Welcome to the site that will help those who are considering a Secular funeral for themselves or a loved one or friend and to introduce more people to the relatively new concept of a Civil Funeral ceremony. Civil Funeral ceremonies are commonplace in Australia and NZ, but the British public are only just beginning to realise that there is an alternative to a religious or atheist Funeral Ceremony. A Civil Funeral Ceremony puts the emphasis on the life of the deceased, not the beliefs of the person officiating. Each ceremony is written to try and capture the essence of the person who has died using words, music and personal reminiscences. Putting into words, in a dignified way, what needs to be said  at a very difficult time for those left behind. I have given a talk on the subject at LOROS in Leicester and am happy to come to talk to your organisation if you think it might help. I have worked in the Funeral Industry since 2004 and trained as a Civil Funeral Celebrant with the Institute of Civil Funerals in March 2006; having a Nationally recognised qualification as a Funeral Celebrant as a result. Since then I have officiated at over 760 Funerals in Crematoria, Municipal Cemeteries and Green Burial Sites as well as private homes. Sizes of congregations have ranged from 3 to 300; all the ceremonies have been well received. Some FD’s now ask for it so I also have Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. I have written a Potted History of  Funerals. Please Click here to read it
